Songwell support

Songwell is a private songwriting workspace from Whitecap Interactive, currently in invite-only beta.

Get help

Email info@whitecap.io for help, accessibility feedback, privacy requests, or to report a problem. Include your app version/build, iPhone or browser version, what happened, and the approximate time. For account help, write from your account email if possible.

Never send your password, invitation code, authentication token, or full private library. Share only the minimum screenshot or sample needed, with private writing hidden. We may ask for a small sample with your permission.

A recording has not synced

Keep the app and its local data installed. Reconnect to the internet, open Songwell, and retry the failed item in Library. A failed upload keeps the saved recording on the iPhone. Do not uninstall the app, erase local data, or delete the account while recovering unsynced work. If storage is full, contact us; existing recordings remain available.

Recording and playback

Allow microphone access in iPhone Settings when you want to record. Record in Songwell while the app is open. Leaving the foreground or an audio interruption stops recording and keeps the partial clip available to replay or save. Save it before closing the app. Songwell does not offer continuous background recording or guaranteed recovery of an unsaved preview.

Account access

New accounts need an invitation matching their email address. On the web sign-in screen, use Forgot password? for a reset email. Check spam if it does not arrive. Private staging builds also require the separate access instructions supplied to testers. A development-build verification warning is different from an account password issue; contact us rather than bypassing security warnings.

Export or delete your account

Use the web library’s export/download control to keep a copy of saved work and recordings. Sync phone captures and save browser drafts first. To delete live account data and recordings, open Settings → Delete account on web or iPhone, enter your password, and type DELETE. The Privacy policy explains the 14-day backup retention and cleanup of offline, older, or signed-out devices.

If you cannot sign in or deletion fails, email us from your account address. We will verify ownership before helping. The iPhone sign-in screen’s Erase local data control is local-only and erases unsynced work from every account on that phone; it does not delete the server account.

Optional AI

AI may be unavailable in the beta. When available, it requires permission to share selected text with OpenAI and is subject to daily and monthly allowances. You can turn permission off in Settings. Capture, editing, recordings, imports, and reference tools do not require AI.
